See, I've got the power to change my shape into anyone I want...it comes in handy! But to REALLY be someone, I need to take their name and body too! Which means you turn into a shadow and can't use your name! Tough break slick! That's not enough either...I aim to erase you for good! I guess it would be unsporting to ruin you without a challenge...so I'll give you one chance. If you can guess my real name, then I'll give you back your name and body! What do you say slick? This'll be fun, right? Now, guess! What's my name? Hit me with your best shot!"
(After guessing) "Wrongamundo, little nobody! Who'd name their kid that? Prepare for doom slick! Yuk yuk yuk! And don't even think about running from battle, hear? NO RUNNING!"

Attack Pattern: When you first battle him, he'll use his dive attack, which is similar to Rawk Hawk's dive. Part way through the battle, he'll change into a purple Mario. When he does so, he'll use jumps and hammers. After finding out his name, you'll battle him again. He'll only use jumps and hammers this time, but he'll have Goombella with him. For the last time you battle him, he'll use his dive and mimic either you or your current partner.
Basic Strategies: When first fighting him, just try to guard his dives and when he turns into Mario, he should be damaged enough so it's pretty easy. Run away when you battle Doppelganger Mario because there is no way you can damage him. After finding out his name, he'll fight with only jumps and hammers and he'll have Goombella with him. If you kill Goombella, he'll switch out Koops, then Flurrie and Yoshi. The last time you fight him, you fight him with Beldam and Marilyn. Go after Beldam first, because she has less health and can turn you small and freeze you. Then kill Marilyn because of her high attack, then go after Doopliss. He'll mimic either Mario or your current partner. You should know your partners well enough to know their attacks.
Advance Strategies: After finding his name and battling, Vivian will join you 3 or 4 turns in. Only attack Doopliss and not your ex-partners. The last time you fight him, you can switch out Koops, so if Doopliss copies him, you can jump on him every so often to flip him on his back.
