BACKGROUND:
Roy's nickname, Bully, is truly earned. Roy thinks he's the baddest, biggest and best Koopaling around, and actually, he's not half-wrong there, he knows a variety of attacks (he doesn't clone himself) and is only bested by Wendy when it comes to effectiveness.
Roy is very boastful, and enjoys squashing things (Goombas are suddenly less plentiful) but has been told to lay off the troops by his dad, King Bowser Koopa. In Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, Roy is the fifth boss.
