BACKGROUND: Sporting stylish shades and a need for speed, these penguins enjoy sliding around on icy platforms at top speed. Although they don't appear to be hostile towards Mario they sure are a pain. They are extremely fast and often appear in tight spaces making it hard to dodge them. They sometimes come out of pipes in infinite numbers.

Attack Pattern: They just slide along the screen towards you. When they hit a wall they will turn around so watch out.
Basic Strategies: It takes two jumps to defeat them, the first only knocks of their shades. To get rid of it more easily you can also use ice balls, fire balls, ground pounds, Starmen, koopa shells and other throwable items.
Advanced Strategies: They will continue to move even after you freeze them. This enables to ride them and use them as platforms. This technique will allow you to get the star coin in World 3-1
