BACKGROUND:
Lumas are small little star-shaped creatures that inhabit most of the galaxies in the Mario universe. They love to eat Star Bits, and they are intelligent, seeing as they can speak. When Rosalina found a lost Luma in a rusty spaceship, she promised it that she would help it find its mother. But they waited for years and still saw no trace of the poor Luma's mother. They decided to repair the rusty spaceship and head out to search space themselves. After a while, they found a comet. Thinking it was the comet that contained the Luma's mother, Rosalina and the Luma landed the ship on the comet. They searched the comet, but still found nothing.
They traveled on the comet and made plans to turn the comet into their home. The comet eventually came to an apricot-colored planet. Suddenly, Lumas of all different colors came from the planet and started fighting over Rosalina to be their mama. She named all the Lumas and brought them to live on the comet, which is now the finished Comet Observatory.
